Expert clinical training and program development

I have provided over 60 training sessions to thousands of behavioral health providers locally, digitally, and internationally. With a cross-sectoral background in health equity and an ever-growing portfolio of novel research, I specialize in developing culturally sensitive behavioral health programs with particular emphasis on gender diversity.

Through training and case consultations, I help clinicians understand how to tailor evidence-based approaches to meet the needs of clients with marginalized identities. I specialize in auditing existing curricula and developing new, culturally sensitive educational programs. I produce a wide variety of clinical learning aids, including:

  • Handouts for comprehensive understanding

  • Language and Communication Guides for effective interaction

  • Role Playing Exercises for practical application

  • Memory Devices aiding theory-to-practice translation

All my solutions are rigorously evidence-based, integrating the latest findings from academic research.

Gender-affirming eating disorder care

I have provided over 60 training sessions to thousands of eating disorder care providers. This customizable, in-depth training may include:

  • Reasons why trans+ and intersex people are more likely to develop eating disorders

  • Unique body image stressors & resilience strengths

  • Considerations of social determinants of health

  • Actionable steps for creating a more inclusive practice

  • Understanding embodiment versus attunement

  • Communication and language guidelines

  • Learning how to adapt evidence-based interventions with specific attention to gender, disability, neurodivergence, class, and cultural influences.

supporting caregivers of gender-expansive youth

After five years of working with gender-expansive families in the eating disorder space and eight years of lived experience, I am excited to begin offering caregiver support sessions.

I am particularly interested in working with caregivers of youth who are struggling with feelings of complex grief and uncertainty. Have you or your child been pursuing transition goals over time, and the course has suddenly changed? I like to frame indecision and fear as data. We can explore what new feelings and behaviors may mean and which paths forward are led with authenticity.
